"overall great game" (9 / 10)
Playstation 2 release
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, a new age of heroes.

This game is a enjoyable gaming experiance. after I saw the title I knew it would be fun, but it was better than my expectations.

it takes a while to master the controls, but with the large variety of characters, you're sure to find somebody you like (they have everyone from Sentinal to Megaman in this game).

I found that the one player 'arcade mode' starts to get repetitive after a while, but you can still have fun playing two players... that or you could crank the difficulty up a notch (you first start out with a lvl. 2 difficulty of about 8-10 maximum)

overall, this game is highly enjoyable, and once you find a good combo, can be even more exciting.

"EPIC!" (9.5 / 10)
I had spent a limited amount of time with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 upon its initial arcade release, but I still knew there was something special about it. For the following years, aside from some brief play on a friend's Dreamcast, MvC2 would be lost to me... until the building in which my college courses took place also housed a MvC2 machine. Every day after class, I would spend my well-earned quarters conquering the game, filling the entire high score table with a solitary letter S in every slot.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is far from being the most balanced fighting game; neither is it the most visually attractive, nor does it have the tightest gameplay. The main feature of MvC2 is that it's damn fun - and that should be all that really matters. Be warned, weary warrior, for obtaining a copy of this game may cost you a pretty penny, not because of Capcom's semi-limited printing of the title, but because almost nobody wishes to rid themselves of this joyous experience.

Trivia

No love for Wii
Capcom has stated that a Wii version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was in the works, to be released around the same time as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. However, because of the download size limit imposed by Nintendo on Virtual Console/WiiWare games, and the fact that Capcom no longer has the license to release Marvel branded games in physical media form, the plans were scrapped.
